This Privacy Policy describes how VeriFact, a service operated by SixSeven LLC ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"), which lets you submit news articles, headlines, links, or claims and receive AI-assisted fact-checking analysis. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Content you submit for fact-checking — news text, headlines, URLs, screenshots, or images you choose to analyze.
- Account information — if you create an account, we collect identifiers such as your email address or a third-party sign-in identifier (e.g., Google or Apple Sign-In) via our authentication provider.
- Communications — information you provide when you contact support or send feedback.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data — device type, operating system version, app version, language, crash logs, performance metrics, and general usage analytics.
- Approximate location — derived from your IP address (we do not collect precise GPS location unless you explicitly grant permission).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the core fact-checking service, including analyzing the content you submit.
- Authenticate users and maintain accounts.
- Improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.
- Monitor for abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms.
- Respond to your support requests and communications.
3. How Content Is Processed (AI Fact-Checking)
When you submit content for analysis, that content is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate fact-checking results. This processing is necessary to provide the service. The analysis is generated by an AI model and may be incomplete or inaccurate — see our Terms & Conditions for important limitations. Your use of this feature is also subject to Google's applicable terms and privacy practices.
4. Third-Party Services
